The countdown has begun, with only one year remaining until the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. As the official timekeeper for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, Swiss watch brand OMEGA held a special event in Milan to celebrate "One Year to Go."
For this special occasion, OMEGA unveiled a new countdown clock next to the iconic Piazza del Duomo in Milan. This giant clock resembles a snow globe, featuring a specially designed airflow system that continuously generates an artificial snowfall effect around the Olympic rings. On the outside of the cube, two digital displays keep track of the days, hours, minutes, and seconds until the opening ceremony of the Olympic Winter Games on February 6, 2026, and the Paralympic Winter Games on March 6, 2026.
OMEGA's President and CEO Raynald Aeschlimann was joined by International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach, CEO of OMEGA's Timing Division Alain Zobrist, and Giovanni Malagò, President of the Milano-Cortina 2026 Foundation.
